RUTHERFORD, Threcy Jane GARRETT - No death in recent years has caused more sorrow to the people of Logan Special district, Highfill and Springtown than that of Mrs. Fletch Rutherford who passed away on Monday afternoon, May 2, 1927 at the age of 43 years, six months and two days, at her home ten miles south and east of Gentry. Her health had been bad for over a year and the last few weeks had been full of pain and suffering but were endured patiently by our loved one. Threcy Jane Garrett was born on October 30, 1883 in Benton county where her entire life was spent. She was married November 26, 1902 to Fletcher Clear Rutherford to which union seven children were born. The deceased is survived by her husband, their six daughters: Mrs. Charlie Rone of Siloam Springs, Mrs. Clifford Leach and Misses Grace, Mina, Reba, and Walneta, at home. Also by two sisters and five brothers: Mrs. John W. Ellington, Chickalah, Ark.; Mrs. Joe H. Ellington, Gentry; F. Monroe Garrett of Logan Special; Lee, Silas and Elbert Garrett of the Black Jack district, and Omar L. Garrett of Noel and a host of friends and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church in Springtown by Rev. Hub. Kennedy and the remains were laid to rest in the Springtown cemetery by the side of her baby son, Crockett, who died May 23, 1921.
