MELBOURNE — Rocco Anthony Calabrese Jr., 85, of Melbourne died Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Melbourne.
Born Dec. 5, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Rocco Anthony Calabrese Sr. and Fulomena Calabrese. He was united in marriage to Ida M. Masciariello. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as a jockey agent at numerous race tracks in Florida and Arkansas. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include a son, Anthony Calabrese of Melbourne; two brothers, Richard J. Calabrese of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Rudolph Calabrese of Deer Park, N.Y.; a sister, Edith Babinski of Deerfield Beach; and a grandson, Joseph Calabrese of Aurora, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother; three sisters; and a granddaughter.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Melbourne Cemetery. Arrangements are by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
