Perry S. Walker, 70, of 2080 Carol St., Batesville, died Sunday Aug. 17, 1980 in a Little Rock hospital. Born at Mt. Pleasant, he was a retired carpenter and a Baptist. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr Walker was a resident of the Mt. Pleasant area prior to moving to Batesville about 15 years ago.

He is survived by a daughter, Lynn Wycough of Batesville; two sisters, Mrs. Margie Reeves of Mount Pleasant and Mrs. Margaret Crafton of Lancaster, Calif.; and a grandson, Blake Wycough of Batesville.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Murry officiating. Burial was in the Reeves Cemetery near Guion with arrangements by the Crouch Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Owen E. Shaw, Durwood McGaha, Hershel Faulkner, Vaughn Reeves, Shelby Anderson and Kenneth Ruminer

[Note: Gravestone has death year inscribed as 1981; however, the obituary and the Social Security Death Index indicates that he died a year earlier.]
