COFFELT, Billie Gene - The only child of Rev. and Mrs. Clarence Coffelt passed away at about seven o'clock Sunday morning, July the tenth at their home just east of Springtown. Billie Gene was born near Mason Valley April 15th, 1925. He was nearly three months past seven years of age. The little fellow had been a sufferer for several years, having suffered a spinal injury from a fall. In mind and spiritual insight he surpassed his years. Already he had developed some very striking, and we might say, unusual characteristics. Among these characteristics are mentioned his quiet confident trust. He was a marvel of patience both in his suffering pain and in his determination to accomplish what often seemed to be impossible for a lad of his years. He would keep on till he did succeed in what he started out to do. A large concourse of people gathered from many communities heard the sermon preached by Pastor English of the Baptist Church of Gentry. Elders Luther Smith, E.F. Rice and John B. Stephens also took part in the funeral services which were held at Mason Valley Baptist Church and at the Coffelt Cemetery where Billie Gene was buried.
