L.Z. Holland son of John Tompkins "Sam" Holland and Queen Rose (Mullen) Holland. Alene (Norman) Holland daughter of Ephraim Isaac Norman and Nettie Ann (Doyle) Norman.
Mrs. Holland was a member of the Strawberry City Council for many years. A local historian and teacher.
Alene A. Holland age 89 of Strawberry died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at a Batesville hospital. She was born January 30, 1926 at Strawberry, Arkansas to Ephriam and Nettie (Doyle) Norman.
She was retired from General Tire in Batesville and also had served on the Strawberry City Council for several years. She was a member of the Bold Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, L.Z. Holland; seven brothers, Johnny Norman, Restess Norman, Walter Norman, Richard Norman, Hardaway Norman, Billy Norman and Horace Norman and five sisters, Magdalene Roberts, Tennessee Birmingham, Josie Boyer, Zilphia Wright and Nancy Smith.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Deshawn Pankey and Johnny Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery located at Strawberry with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be Friday, October 9, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Vince Wright, Scott Wright, Keith Wright, Darrell Conyers, Randy Walker and David McAnally.
Honorary pallbearers are all nieces and nephews.
