Gentry Journal-Advance
Friday, December 8, 1899
SITTEN, Ben - Uncle Ben Sitten, as he was familiarly known, died Saturday and was interred in the Springtown cemetery last Sunday by the Masonic fraternity of which he was a steadfast friend and supporter. There was no better citizen. He had been a member of the Baptist church for many years, a friend to the poor and a just man among his neighbors. He was a prosperous farmer and a good provider for his family's wants. Uncle Ben met with a serious accident by a fall he received about 12 months ago, from which he never recovered and has been confined to his bed ever since. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The Journal-Advance extends sympathy to the bereaved family and trust that their loss may be his gain.
