Audie May Watson, 88, of Melbourne, daughter of the late Newton Cooper and Ethna Freeman Cooper, died Friday, May 14, 1993, at her residence. She was born August 12, 1904 in Jumbo, AR.
She was married to Lee Watson on August 8, 1920 in Izard County, AR. She spent her working years as a teacher and a homemaker. She was a member of the Melbourne Church of Christ.
Survivors include; one daughter, Vivian Parkins of Cashmere, WA; one son, Tony Cooper of Melbourne; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one sister.
Services were Monday, May 17, 1993 at 2 p.m. at the Melbourne Church of Christ with Chuck Crow and Tom Brister officiating.
Pallbearers were; Don W. Watson, Lee C. Watson, Doyle Watson, Gerald Coleman, Bill Roland, and Curtis Dale. Honorary pallbearers were John Copeland, Richard Martin, Luther Gillihan, Osbie Hunt and Bill Grinnell.
Burial was in the Combs Cemetery in Melbourne under the direction of the Howard Funeral Home.
