Ava Nell Irene Smith Wade, 83, of Batesville died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, in a Batesville nursing home.
Born July 7, 1922, at Twin Creek, she was the daughter of Leonard and Annie Cross Smith. She was united in marriage to William Warren Wade on May 9, 1942, in Twin Creek. She was a homemaker and a member of Twin Creek Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Elmer Ray Wade and Dois Wayne Wade, both of Batesville; and seven grandchildren, Connie Chaver, Tammy Ragle, Jeanie Clark, Velvet Prewitt, Rhonda Duncan, Carla Wade and Warren Wade.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, William Loyd Wade; two daughters, Linda Kay Wade and Edith Mae Wade; three sisters, Audie Hutchins, Verla Mae Gillihan and Unice Smith and two brothers, Hanley and Harlan.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Combs Cemetery Community Building with Ralph Wallis and Donald Gillihan officiating. Burial will be in Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home of Melbourne.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Wade, Shannon Templin, Allen Chavers, Lucas Canski, Charles Smith and Dale Prewitt.
Honorary pallbearers are Boyce Gillihan, Shelby Gillihan, George Gillihan, Junior Gillihan and Clifton Gillihan.
