Melbourne Lee Adcock, age 79, of Rose Bud, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011, at his home. Born in Heber Springs on June 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Joe Calvin and Elsie Pearl (Johnson) Adcock.

Mr. Adcock was a retired saw miller and maintenance worker for Eden Isle.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mellie Adcock, who passed away in 1989. Other family members who preceded Mr. Adcock in death include his parents; one son, Joe Adcock; one great-great- grandson, Christopher Presley; three brothers; and five sisters.

He is survived by two sons, Jimmy Adcock and wife, Rhonda, of Greenbrier and Timmy Adcock of Rose Bud; three daughters, Sharon Lawrence and husband, Dale, of Ida, Carol Stroud and husband, Michael, of Rose Bud, and Neta Mashburn of Batesville; daughter-in-law, La Donna Adcock; one brother, Leon Adcock of Rose Bud; two sisters, Glenda Caldwell and Carolyn Huff, both of Rose Bud; his girlfriend, Dorothy Haney; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Olmstead Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, at South Cross Roads Church at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Larry Wilhite officiating. Interment will follow in the South Cross Roads Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
