Jesse Joe Avery, age 63, of Heber Springs, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009. Jesse was born December 7, 1945 in Parkdale, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe N. Avery; a sister Dorothy (Patty) Mathis, and a brother Roy Linn Avery. Survivors include his wife of forty-one years, Ellen Price Avery; a daughter, Ginger Clayton of Rose Bud; his mother, Dorothy Wolfe Avery of Heber Springs; two sisters, Sue Price and husband Floyd, and Mary Cranford and husband Don, both of Heber Springs; brother-in-law, Everrett Mathis of Heber Springs; grandchildren, Nicole Bryan and husband Kevin, and Jessica Clayton.; and many other relatives and friends.
Jesse retired after many years of service with the US Fish and Wildlife Service. He worked on maintenance at the National Fish Hatchery at Heber Springs. Jesse was a US Army veteran. He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, and most of all his family.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Sugarloaf Baptist Church, Heber Springs. Interment will follow in the South Crossroads Cemetery.
