MELBOURNE — Joey D. Shell, 50, of Melbourne died Tuesday, July 14, 2009, in Mountain Home.
Born March 10, 1959, in Batesville, he was the son of James Euin "Jim" Shell and Peggy Lou Hunt Shell. He was united in marriage to Tanya Banks in December 1985. He was a lifelong resident of Izard County, where he went to school, worked and raised his family. He was employed at Columbia Flooring in Melbourne and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years; two daughters, Kayla Strother of Southside and Jessica Shell of Melbourne; his father of Melbourne; a brother, Jimmy Shell of Elizabeth; and a nephew, Jason Shell of Melbourne.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Ricky Burke officiating. Burial will be in Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers will be Dean Hutchins, Gary Crotts, Bill Jones, Samuel Guiltner, Jerry Arnold and Rick Haney.
Honorary pallbearers are Jason Shell, David Jones, J.W. Ellis and Clovis Vest.
