Ida Elizabeth Taylor, age 71, of Heber Springs passed away March 4, 2010. Born September 8, 1938, in Heber Springs, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Ethel Mayfield Gage and George Gage. She was a homemaker and a member of the West Pangburn Community Church.

Ida was the patriarch of her family and enjoyed serving other people. After finishing high school she acquired a degree in Cosmetology.

John Wayne Taylor, 77, of Heber Springs, AR., passed away Friday, April 13, 2012.

Born Dec. 31, 1934, at Jonesboro, AR., he was the son of the late Mary Lucinda Frazier Taylor and William Taylor.

He was an active member of the West Pangburn Community Church.

Mr. Taylor enjoyed going to the Country Kitchen at Pangburn every day, and later in the day he would be at the Senior Citizens Community Center visiting with friends. His hobbies included bowling, fishing and yard work.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ida Elizabeth Taylor, whom he married July 9, 1954; a sister, Dorothy Sidenstricker; two brothers, Edward and Albert "Pete" Taylor; and a grandson, Mark Gebhard.

He is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Jeanne Bass and husband Boyd of Heber Springs; son, Johnny Franklin Taylor of Heber Springs; sister, Pauline "Polly" Copeland of Jonesboro; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many friends.

Funeral services and interment were in Good Springs Cemetery in the Pine Snag community. Arrangements were by Heber Springs Funeral Home, Heber Springs.


She is survived by her husband, John Wayne Taylor of Heber Springs, Arkansas, whom she married July 9, 1954; son, Johnny Franklin Taylor of Heber Springs, AR; daughter, Jeanne Bass and husband Boyd of Heber Springs, AR; three brothers, Leon Gage and wife Betty of Quitman, AR, Don Gage of Heber Springs, AR and Robert Gage and wife Dottie of Ft. Smith, AR; three sisters, Loretta Horn and Ivory Backus both of Heber Springs, AR and Georgia Ramer and husband Glen of Greers Ferry, AR; half-sister, Francis Hillsendegger of California; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many friends.
