WAYNE F. ALLEN
SILOAM SPRINGS — Wayne F. Allen, 89, of Siloam Springs died Nov. 77, 2000. He was born Sept. 2, l911, in Cane Hill to Jim and Edna Ball Allen. He moved to Siloam Springs in 1954. He was the retired owner of Wayne Allen Lumber Co. in Siloam Springs and later earned a real-estate license and was associated with Ward Jones Realtors. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a tank commander with the Fighting 69th Infantry. He was a member of the Rotary Club in both Springdale and Siloam Springs and was a past president of the Springdale Rotary and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a commander of District I of the American Legion, was a former Springdale School Board member and served on the Siloam Springs City council and the Siloam Springs Hospital governing board. In 1997, he was awarded the Pioneer Citizen Award by the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Scottish Rite and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Steven W. Allen and Paula of Little Rock; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Wasson and Bob of Siloam Springs; one grandson, Danny Wasson and wife Carolyn of Siloam Springs; two granddaughters, Carla Wasson of Siloam Springs and Meggin Allen of Nashville, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs, with the Rev. Bill Eason and the Rev. Jerry Hopkins officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 429, Siloam Springs, 72761.
