Francis Juanita Dickinson 'Dickie' Dean
Francis Juanita Dickinson "Dickie" Dean, 88-year-old resident of Siloam Springs died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at her home. Born Sept, 15, 1916, in Horatio (Sevier County), she was the daughter of Dr. Richard C. Dickinson and Belle Gray Dickinson.
Mrs. Dean had been in Siloam Springs since 1993, moving from Houston, where she lived most of her adult life. While in Houston, she was active in church and civic activities. Dickie was a member of PEO Chapter T in Siloam Springs and was a former member of the Hospital Foundation Board. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs. Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her husband, David Boyd Dean.
Survivors include one son, Dr. David B. Dean and his wife Dr. Kate Dahlmann of Siloam Springs; one daughter, Diane Dean Simmons and husband Mark of Siloam Springs; granddaughter, Emily Dean Gregory and husband Dr. Minor Gregory of Little Rock; grandson, Mark Todd Simmons and wife Shelley of Siloam Springs; granddaughter Sarah Simmons Goldstein and husband Jeremy of New York, N.Y.; three great-granddaughters, Abby Gregory and Margaret Gregory, both of Little Rock, and Caroline Simmons of Siloam Springs; two sisters, Flora Ann Dickinson of Horatio and Bettye Horne and husband Autry of Gurdon; several nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Mary Barnhardt Dickinson of Rogers.
Private graveside services were held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs with Father Russ Snapp officiating.
Memorial contrilaudons can be made to First United Methodist Church in Horatio, P.O. Box 316, Horatio, 71842.
Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
