John Wesley Hammons
SILOAM SPRINGS — John Wesley Hammons, 91, of Siloam Springs died Jan. 6, 2008, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born April 8, 1916, in Metalton to William Vern Hammons and Eva Hudspeth Hannmons.
He was a self-employed mechanic and a dump truck driver. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Burgess Hammons, in 2007.
Survivors include three sons, David Hammons and wife Kay, of Berryville, Dewey Hammons and wife Jean of Tulsa, Okla., Stephen Hammons of Berryville; one daughter, Carolyn Larkin and husband Clyde of Siloam Springs; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herbert Hammons of California and Jessie Hammons of Tulsa; one sister, Dorothy Newby of Tulsa.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery with Jim Whisenant officiating.
