Carl Tumlison, 76, of Crossett died Friday, September 30, 2005, at the Landmark Nursing Home in West Monroe, LA. Born September 21, 1929, in Hamburg to Hiram Alexander "Zan" and Goldie Dale Burnett Tumlison, he was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved gospel music and sang in the Southland Quartet in the 1950s. He worked for the Sword and Shield Publishing Company for several years and also worked as a lab technician for Georgia-Pacific.
Survivors include a son, Renn Tumlison and wife Terry of Arkadelphia; a special friend, Ruth Parks of West Monroe; a brother, Zandra Tumlison of Peru, IN; a sister, Jeanene Stewart of Lake Village; and two grandchildren, Creed and Tamzen Tumlison. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Conner Tumlison.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, October 3, in the Church of Christ with Joe Sponaugle and Jurd Brantley officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Green, Paul Langley, Joe Friend, Ron Huboda, Harry Joe Tumlison, Tommy Pearson and Joe Shairrick. Honorary pallbearers were Troy Wisecarver and Andy Shaw. Burial followed services at the Carter Cemetery with arrangements by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
