BOSWELL, ARK--DANIEL LAYTON, age 88, of Boswell, died March 11, 1988 in Calico Rock. He was born December 18, 1899 at Mt. Olive, son of Franklin and Josephine Hollins Layton, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married to Lola Richardson on November 16, 1924.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Boswell Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Layton of Boswell; four sons, Emil Layton of Independence, Mo., Arthur Layton of Pocahontas, Leonard Layton of Licking, Mo., and Elder Remil Layton of Mountain Home; twin daughters, Florence Claxton of West Helena, and Lorene Byram of Kansas City, KS; one sister, Ruthie Musgrove of Forest Grove, Ore., and by 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were March 14, at the Howard Funeral Home in Melbourne with Bro. Charles Faith officiating. Burial was in the Combs Cemetery. --Pocahontas Star Herald, March 1988; contributed by Freda Roberts.
