Ruby Blanche Newland 85, of Clinton, Arkansas passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Ozark Health Nursing Center Clinton, Arkansas. She was born May 17, 1926 at Dennard, Arkansas to the late Isaac C. and Dovie (Connett) Gildersleeve.

Ruby was of the Baptist faith and attended the Dennard Community Church. She was first and foremost a homemaker. She worked as a Secretary in the Van Buren County Clerk's Office and served with her husband as Deputy County Assessor and Treasurer. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, especially growing flowers. She was a fifty year member of the County Extention Homemakers and graduated from the Clinton Vocational Technical School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph D. Newland and a daughter, DeeAnn Newland.

Ruby is survived by her children Randy Newland and wife Karen of Greenbrier, Arkansas; Danny Newland and wife Kathy of Clinton, Arkansas; Sherrin Richardson and husband Don of Clinton, Arkansas; and Rita McDonald and husband Jerry of Greenbrier, Arkansas; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one sister, Fern Rogers of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and a special cousin Wilford Keeling of Cave City, Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers: Larry Newland, Lester Newland, Josh Newland, Will Newland, Wes Newland, Jared Standridge, and Clayton Whittmore.

Honorary Pallbearers: Dennard Quilting Ladies.
