Nora A. Jeffery, daughter of the late Newton and Jane Bowman Sartin, was born January 7, 1905. She died March 7, 1997, after a short illness. Mrs. Jeffery, known to all as "Nannie Nora," was a retired cook at the Pioneer Nursing Home. Survivors include one son, Lloyd of Melbourne; one granddaughter, Renee of Hot Springs; one grandson, Randy of Little Rock; one great granddaughter and husband, Tara and Chad Clements of Hot Springs, AR; one great-great granddaughter, Robbie Gayle Clements of Hot Springs; one great-great grandson, Joe Beary of Sidney, AR; and one she called her granddaughter, Janna Davidson of Salt Lake City, UT; one sister, Bertha Kahoe of Mountain Home, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews along with a world of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie; and daughter-in-law, Robbie; six brothers, and one sister. Funeral services were held March 10, 1997, at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Bro. Doyne Robertson officiating. Pallbearers were Rocky Campbell, Alvin Jeffery, Henry Pate, Glen Billingsley, Lee Watson, and Dewey Love. Interment was at Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie Howard Funeral Home in Melbourne.
