Lydia Fay Harmon Hutchins, daughter of the late Lee Hayden “Bucksey” Harmon and Merle Clara Conyers Harmon, was born May 25, 1927 in Melbourne, Arkansas. She departed this life May 4, 2015 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 87years, 11 months and 9 days. In 1946 she was united in marriage to Valentine “Bob” Hutchins and to this union five children were born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. During her working years, she was employed by White River Shirt Company in Melbourne and Melbourne Elementary in the housekeeping department. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne.
She is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law: Lonnie and Bonnie Hutchins of Violet Hill, Arnie and Marlene Hutchins of LaCrosse and Dean and Lillian Hutchins of Violet Hill; one daughter and son-in-law: Jody and Michael Dale of Bonetown; one brother: David Harmon of Jonesboro; twelve grandchildren: Angie Cannon, Jessie Hutchins, Valerie Wheeley, Jason Hutchins, Clayton Hutchins, Brandy Moore, Rodney Hutchins, Amy Dale, Corey Dale, Misty Moody and Wendy Moody; twenty great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Bob Hutchins; one infant child; three brothers: J. C. Harmon, Charles Harmon and one infant brother: J. B. Harmon.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 4 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Jessie Hutchins, Clayton Hutchins, Jason Hutchins, Rodney Hutchins, Shannon Hutchins and Corey Dale.
Honorary Pallbearers: Colton Hutchins, Ken Wheeley, Kevin Moore, Donald Hutchins and Dennis Hutchins.
