Daughter of Alexander Smith. She was born in 1824 in Pike County. She was the wife of Seaborn Thomas Carter and mother of William, Mary Jane, Amanda, John, Eilas, Seaborn, Margaret, Martha "Mattie", Galvesta and Serena. Hannah died June 13, 1896 in Sebastian County, Arkansas. She is buried by her husband at Liberty Cemetery
