Emma May Douthit McCarter
MCALESTER, Okla. — Emma May Douthit McCarter, 100, of McAlester died at Mitchell Manor Convalescent Center. She was born Sept. 12, 1910, in Tahlequah, Okla., to John and Della Stout Douthit.

Her family moved to Siloam Springs in a covered wagon when she was young. She was a farm wife and kept the books for the family's dairy operation.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce and husband, Delta Bridges, of McAlester, and Frances and husband, Dunning Sanger, of Norman, Okla.; a brother; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. Friday at Bishop's Memorial Chapel in McAlester with the funeral at 10 a.m. Burial will be 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.
