Larry Don Gillihan, son of the late Dallas Raymond Gillihan and Lorene Vest Gillihan of Batesville, was born May 26, 1949, in Twin Creek, AR. He departed this life on August 1, 2007, in Batesville, AR at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 6 days.
He was united in marriage to Kathrine Nancy Guthrie on September 26, 1970, in Batesville, AR and to this union two children were born. Larry was a businessman who owned and operated Gillihan's Auto Sales in Batesville for over thirty years. He was a farmer raising cattle, horses and hay. Larry was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Batesville.
Larry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy Gillihan of Batesville; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Victoria Gillihan of Cabot; one daughter, Jennifer Gillihan of Batesville; his mother, Lorene Gillihan of Batesville; one brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Lou Ellen Gillihan of Batesville; two grandchildren, Luke Gillihan of Batesville and Haley Gillihan of Cabot; and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2006.
Funeral service was Saturday, August 4 at 10:00 a.m. at the Roman & Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne. Burial was at Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation was Friday, August 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
