VIRGIE MARIE "GRANNY" COPELAND

Virgie Copeland, daughter of James Thomas Jefferson Copeland and Nora Lavada Miller Copeland, was born March 18, 1928 in Allen Reed, TX. She died March 19, 2006 in Batesville, Ark. She was united in marriage first to Sylvester Leon Gulley and to this union two children were born. In 1955, she took as her second husband Shelby Neel.
Virgie leaves to mourn her passing; two sons and daughter-in-law: Donnie and Kathy Gulley; and Paul and Cindy Gulley, all of Melbourne: one sister: Anna Haley of Melbourne: and six grandchildren; Amanda Cooper of Violet Hill, Jeff Gulley of Elizabethtown, TN, Kelby Gulley, Shea Dillard, Chris Gulley and Gavin Gulley, all of Melbourne: five great grandchildren; Brandon Roberts, Tyler Gulley, Kayla Cooper, Justin Cooper and Cheyenne Conway; and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one husband, Shelby Neel.
Funeral services were Wed., March 22, 2006 at the Roman and Billy Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Eric Williamson and Steve Stevenson officiating. Burial was at Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Pallbearers were Jerry Blankenship, Glen Hunt, Terry Smith, Bob Ramsey, Charlie Woods, and Son Lamb. Honorary Pallbearers were Kenny Jones, Jerry Russell, and Dr. Greg Neaville.
