G.C. Marrs of the Pleasant Valley neighborhood, received a message Saturday afternoon that his brother, S.H. Marrs, a former resident of the same community, had died that morning in a hospital at Anaheim, California. The body was shipped from that place Tuesday morning and will reach the old home place in Pleasant Valley Thursday or Friday. Burial will be in the Springtown cemetery, probably Friday or Saturday.

MARRS, S.H. - The body of S.H. Marrs, a former resident of Springtown who died May 2nd in Anaheim, Calif., was returned Friday for burial in the Springtown cemetery.

{from Pleasant Valley} Funeral services for S.H. Marrs, who died May 2 in a hospital at Anaheim, Calif., were conducted at the Springtown cemetery Friday afternoon by Eld. Rice of Springdale. The deceased was born in Illinois Dec. 1, 1858. When a young man he moved with his parents to Texas and later came to this state where he made his home until October 1929 when he went to California. He leaves his wife, one son, Chris Marrs, of Staton, Texas; seven daughters, Mrs. D.B. Osborne, Mrs. Jim Steele, Mrs. Pearl Gaines, Eunice and Ida Marrs, all of Placentia, Calif.; Mrs. G.A. Jones of Phoenix, Arizona and Mrs. Edward LeVan of Washington, D.C. to mourn his departure, besides two brothers and two sisters. His daughter, Eunice, accompanied the body to Kansas City where her sister, Mrs. LeVan met her and the two accompanied the body to its last resting place. The bereaved family have the sympathy of this entire vicinity.

{from Springtown} Funeral services for S.H. Marrs, who died in California, were held here last Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Elmer Rice of Springdale and were followed by interment in the Springtown cemetery. Those who attended the funeral from a distance were Miss Eunice Marrs of Placentia, Calif., Mrs. Esther LeVan of Washington, D.C., both daughters of the deceased, and a nephew, Jim Lichlyter and wife from Henderson, Texas.
