Benton County Democrat

McHARGUE, M. Emma CONDREY - {from Springtown} M.E. Condrey was born in North Carolina November 6, 1843. At the age of fifteen she professed faith in Christ and joined the M.E. Church, South, of which she had ever since been a member. She was married to J.L. McHargue August 12, 1867. They moved to Benton County, Arkansas December 1871 where they lived happily until Sunday, May 31st, when the death angel called Sister McHargue to the realms above, there to meet the loved ones gone before and to await the coming of those left behind. She had been in poor health the past six years. During this time she was always patient and talked often of the happy home awaiting her. She told her loved ones not to grieve for her for she did not fear death. She leaves a husband, one brother, W.A. Condrey of Kansas, Okla., one sister, Mrs. L.A. Wooten of Bloomfield, Ark., besides hosts of other relatives and friends to mourn their loss, but our loss is her heavenly gain. Rev. S.I. Harrison has for many years been a near friend of Brother and Sister McHargue and we were glad he was able to come, according to their desire, and conduct the funeral. A large crowd, including many of her relatives, was present at the funeral. Uncle Joe and Aunt Emma, as they are familiarly known, have lived in Springtown for thirty—three years and have a wide circle of friends. Her Pastor, D.H. Holland.
