LESTER L. SCHMIDT
Lester L. Schmidt, 60, 1705 Horseshoe Dr., Springdale, died July 25 in the Veterans Hospital at Fayetteville. Born Sept. 30, 1914 at Pownee Rock, Kan., he was the son of Daniel D. and Ella Unruh Schmidt. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II. Schmidt was a sales and delivery man for Arkansas Surgical Supply Co.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ina Wilson Schmidt of the home; two sons, Leo Schmidt, Fort Collins, Colo., and Hugh Schmidt of the home; a stepmother, Mrs. Lizzie Schmidt, Peabody, Kan.; three brothers, Wesley Schmidt, Arlington, Kan., Elmer Schmidt Greensburg, Kan., and Fred Schmidt, Pownee Rock; two half brothers, Roy Schmidt, Pratt, Kan., and Donald Schmidt, Peabody; one step-brother, Herman Kopp, Hutchinson, Kan.; three sisters, Mrs. Albert (Ruby) Deckert, Great Bend, Kan., Mrs. Felix (Bearnice) Webb, Springdale, and Mrs. Harold (Hazel) McGuire, Los Angeles, Calif.; three half sisters, Mrs. Bill (Lavona) Logan, Peabody; Mrs. Ray (Faye) Linkous, Emporia, Kan., and Mrs. Lloyd (Louella) Brewer, Peabody; one step sister, Mrs. Earl (Maria) Roth, Hutchinson; two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Sisco Chapel with burial in Friendship Cemetery.

Ina Schmidt
SPRINGDALE — Ina Schmidt, 92, of Springdale, died Oct. 21, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice. She was born July 29, 1919, in Booneville, Ark., to Hugh K. and Willie Brewster Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Schmidt.
Ina was a bookkeeper for Taylor Engineering. She was a member of Cross Church in Springdale. She volunteered at the Jones Center for Families gift shop.
Survivors include two sons, Lee Schmidt and wife, Sarah, of Allen, Texas, and Hugh Daniel Schmidt of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Suzanne Scott and Jon Schmidt; five great-grandchildren, Rachel Scott, Emily Scott, Brian Schmidt, Kristen Schmidt and Gina Schmidt.
Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, with the Rev. Charlie Foster officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
