James Elmer Spears
PRYOR, Okla. — James Elmer "Josh" Spears, 86, of Pryor died June 6, 2000, at Salina, Okla.
He was born May 8, 1914, in Decatur, Texas, to William Thomas and Vina Florence Smith Spears.
He moved to Pryor 10 years ago from Springdale.
He was a janitor for McClelland Consulting Engineers Inc. in Fayetteville for 15 years, and he owned and operated a Mobil gas station for 30 years.
He was a member and deacon of First Free Will Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
He attended the First Free Will Baptist Church in Pryor.
His wife, Opal Jane Rogers, preceded him in death in 1979.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law; Wilma Jean Sinfellow and Harold of Sun Valley, Nev., Juanita Christene Blackman and Bob of Pryor, Linda Ann Lindsey and Jim Wade of Littleton, Colo., and Stella Wanell Busey and Bill of Reno, Nev.; two sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. James Lee Spears and Alice of Fort Smith and Billy Charles Spears and Aundra of Springdale; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Stephens Memorial Chapel in Pryor with the Rev. Glenn Lewis officiating.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Friendship Cemetery at Springdale with the Rev. James Spears officiating.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 today at Stephens Memorial Chapel.
