Josiah Eugene Russell, age 81, of Maumelle, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 24, 2011, at his home.
Born in Cabot on February 24, 1930, he was the son of the late Josiah Edward and Unabelle (Prater) Russell.
Mr. Russell was a retired civil engineer and a veteran of the United States Merchant Marines.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Lucy Mae Russell and Kay Colleen Russell; sons, Michael Eugene Russell and Larry Gene Russell; brother, Ted Russell; sister, Anitia Johnson; and granddaughter, Kelly Gibson.
Mr. Russell is survived by sons, Darrell Russell and his wife, Margaret, of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Garry Dean Russell of South Dakota; daughter, Constance Thomas and her husband, Michael, of Yuma, Arizona; sister, Ruby Lea Nahlen of North Little Rock; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Olmstead Chapel in Heber Springs with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will be in Woodland Memorial Park.
