Lola B. Smith

ROGERS — Lola B. "Smitty" Smith, age 97, went to be with her Lord on March 11, 2012. She was born March 10, 1915, to John H. and Gladys Ecton
Blackburn in Spring Valley, Ark.

She was a certified nurse assistant having gotten her degree at the Baptist hospital in New Orleans, La. She moved to Rogers in 1970 and worked for St. Mary's Hospital for many years. She also did private duty nursing and worked at The Friends Adult Center, retiring in 2004.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer J. Smith, her parents, and four sisters. She is survived by one son, Lee and Ila Faye Bell of Stillwater, Okla.; two grandchildren, David Bell and Carol Causley, also of Stillwater; and one brother, Joseph E. Blackburn of Rogers.

She was a faithful member of the House of God of Rogers until her health failed, causing her move to Stillwater.

Funeral services will be held at the Callison-Lough Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 10 a.m. with a short visitation before the service. Pastor Lisa Schroeder will officiate.

Private burial will follow at the Rogers Cty Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.callisonlough.com.
