Willie Jeannette "Billie" Fisher, 82, of Crossett died Thursday, January 7, 2010. Born on November 15, 1927, in Crossett to Oscar Lee and Maudie Belle Smith Carter, Mrs. Fisher was a former employee of Crossett Mercantile, a co-owner of Charlie's Grocery & Market and a retired sales clerk for Spikes Drug Store. She enjoyed genealogy, loved to write and working crossword puzzles. Mrs. Fisher was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church .

Survivors include her husband, Norman T. Fisher of Crossett; two sons, Charles Lee "Chuck" Baxter and wife Karon of Dewitt and Paul S. Baxter and wife Doris of Conyers, GA; three step-children, Marie Dack and husband Art and David Fisher of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and Michael Fisher of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; one sister, Katie Jo Morgan of Crossett; five grandchildren, Phillip Baxter and wife Mandy, Kristopher Baxter, Staci McCulley and husband Darren, Brent Baxter and wife Robin and Lindsay Hilkert; two step-grandchildren, Amanda Dack and Rochelle Willier; and two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Phoebe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three infant sons, two husbands, Charles Baxter and John Harrod, and three sisters, Sybil Berry, Dorothy Deal and Verna Morgan.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m., Saturday, January 9, at Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Bros. David Tohlen and Eric Hodge officiating. Pallbearers were Dean Holland, Gayle Deal, Eddie Deal, Kenneth Morgan, Billy Lafoon and Terry Welchel. Burial followed at the Carter Cemetery Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, 455 W. Gaines, Monticello, AR 71655.
