Lillie Fay Smith, age 86 of Searcy, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 in Searcy. She was born Monday, November 1, 1920 in Rose Bud, Arkansas to James Horace Thacker and Julia Ann (Barger) Thacker. She was a member of Chapel Lane Baptist Church and was retired from International Shoe Company.

She is survived by one daughter, Glenda Hare of Searcy; four grandchildren, Melissa Elliott and husband Dan of Cabot, Brad Hare and wife Creece of Las Vegas, Nevada, Johnna Paul and husband Gary of Troy, Virginia, Teresa Austin and husband Frank of Infield, New Hampshire; six great-grandchildren, Hayden Elliott, Avery Elliott, Jacob Hare, Alicia Paul, Heather Paul, Alexis Dupree; one brother, Wayne Thacker of Bald Knob; two sisters, Syble Edwards and husband Bob of St. Louis, Iuple Vodde of St. Louis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Julia Thacker; husband, J.C. Smith; daughter, Julia Marise Paul; and brother, James Hosea Thacker.

Visitation is Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Funeral services are Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lane Baptist Church with interment to follow at Crossroads South Cemetery near Hopewell. Memorials may be made to the Chapel Lane Baptist Church.
