MELBOURNE – Esther V. Fisher, 82, of Melbourne died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, in a Batesville hospital.
Born March 12, 1921, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Joseph Hiriam Stokes and Hattie Autumn Spence Stokes. She was married to Cleo Adam Fisher on May 17, 1946, in Melbourne. She was a homemaker and attended the Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Junior Fisher of Zion; a daughter, Reba Tate of Melbourne; two grandchildren, Andy Tate and Amanda Tate; a great-grandchild, Destany Cross; four nieces; and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son; a brother, Cecil Stokes; and a sister, Retha Moser.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Reeves Cemetery Chapel with Jerry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers will be Morris Shaver, Troy Shaver, W.C. Evans, Bobby Smith, Robert Spence and Johnny Bramlett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Shaver, Loren Fisher, Elvie Craig and Elvie Lewis.
