ALFRED R. DOWELL

Alfred Raymond Dowell, 80, 224 S. Thompson St., Springdale, died Aug. 15 at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville. Born Oct. 19, 1897, at Tontitown, he was the son of John G. and Amanda Walters Dowell, a member of Revival Tabernacle and a retired steel shearman.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ola Bowlin Dowell of the home; two sons, Roger L. Dowell of Pettigrew and Roger B. Dowell of the home; one daughter, Mrs. John (Edith) Cottrell of Springdale; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sisco Chapel. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Ola Mae Dowell

HENNING, Tenn — Ola Mae Dowell, 100, of Henning, Tenn., died Sept. 26, 2002, at Henning, Tenn. She was born Feb. 14, 1902, in Rogers to William and Rose Gibson Bowlin. She was a homemaker, a Pantecostal and enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred R. Dowell in 1980.

Survivors include one son, Roger Dowell of Henning, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Paul Eden officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will to from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
