Norman Beck

Norman Beck, 76, of Siloam Springs, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born Aug. 22, 1914, at Lynn Lane, Okla., to John Beck and Carrie Klahr Beck. He had been a resident of Siloam Springs since 1946 and was a former resident of Tulsa, Okla. He was the former co-owner of Standard Auto Supply in Siloam Springs. A veteran of WW II, he was a member of the ATC of the U.S. Army Air Force and he had flown troop transport runs over the Himalayas during his military service. He was a former member of Siloam Springs School Board and the City Council. He was a past president of the Lions Club and a member of the Hump Pilots Association. He was a member of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church in Siloam Springs.

Survivors are his wife, Jean; two daughters, Norma Jean Robason of Siloam Springs and Barbara Ann Freeling of Little Rock; three brothers, Olas Beck of Broken Arrow, Okla., Rev. John Beck of Claremore, Okla., and Glenn Beck of Owasso, Okla.; two sisters, Dorothy Brown of Beersheeba Springs, Tenn., and Helen Adams of Tulsa, Okla.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral is set for 10 a.m. Friday at Wasson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Cottrell and J.D. Moon officiating. Burial is to be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital or the building fund at Harvard Avenue Baptist Church.
