Zona (Riley) Walls, 92, of Booneville, formerly of Blue Mountain, went to be with Jesus, Sunday, April 27, 2008. Zona was born, June 28, 1915 in Magazine, Ark. to William Alec and Belle Jane Riley. Zona retired after 14 years as a Deputy Clerk for the Logan County Clerks Office. She also served in the Treasurer's and Tax Assessor's Office. Before that, she worked as the Magazine School Secretary during the 1960's. She worked for a while as a Discharge Clerk at Fort Chaffee. Also in the Ration Office in Booneville during WW II.
She was a lifetime member of the Magazine United Methodist Church, where she served as church secretary for many years. While there, she also taught children's Sunday School. She was a member of the Blue Mountain EH Club and the Magazine American Legion Ladies Auziliary.
Without a doubt though, Zona's greatest achievement and the love of her life was her family. Zona loved her husband of 57 years, James M. Walls who preceded her in death by 4 years, and a daughter, Charlotte Temple, and a son, James Walls Jr. She loved her children very much and was crazy about all her grandchildren. She was in heaven when all the kids would show up. She was very proud.
She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Willota and Duane Andrews of Booneville. Also a daughter-in-law, Susan (Walls) Cunningham of Wynne, Ark. One special niece, Marcie Roberts of Harrison, Ark. A sister-in-law, Genevieve (Walls) Jezisek, of Owings, Maryland. Grandchildren are Braden Walls, Brittany Charles, Wesley, Jim, Dustin & Russell Andrews. Also Caleb & Hanna Cunningham. There are 3 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Duane, Jim, Wesley, Dustin, Russell Andrews, and Braden Walls. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Dan & Danny Jones, John Jezisek, Jim Hanson, Bobby McGehee, John & Marvin Holt.
