George Carrol Ryan, age 71, died Monday, 25 Feb 2002.
He was a farmer and rancher. He was acting OIC at the Blue Mountain,Arkansas Post Office. He was a veteran of the US Army. He studied electrical engineering at Arkansas Tech University at Russellville and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a member of the Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church, on the South Logan County Fair Board, a member of the National Brangus Association and very active with county and district livestock shows and fairs. He was an exhibitor for 55 years at the Arkansas State Fair and Livestock Show. He maintained the Blue Mountain Cemetery and served as a member of the Cemetery Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Columbus Ryan and Mildred Vivian (Loyd) Ryan. He is survived by three sisters, Emily "Gene" (Ryan) Hurst from Cotter, Arkansas, Grace (Ryan) Calva from Blue Mountain, Arkansas, and Joan Ryan from Little Rock, Arkansas.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, 28 Feb 2002, at Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church in Blue Mountain officiated by Elder James Isaacs and Rev. Bill Storts with interment at Blue Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Cornwell Fuenral Home of Danville, Arkansas.
