Hazel Penrod, 100, Kansas City, KS, passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Presbyterian Manor. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 11, at Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Sat., Oct. 13, at Centerpoint General Baptist Church, Quitman, AR. Burial will immediately follow. Memorial contributions may be made in Hazels name to Centerpoint Cemetery, c/o U.S. Bank, 6149 Heber Springs Rd., Quitman, AR 72131, or to the charity of the donor's choice. Hazel was born June 10, 1912, in Mulberry, AR, the daughter of John and Sarah (Jones) Sumner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence in 1977. She is survived by her son, Leroy (Virginia) Penrod, daughters, Loretta (Jerry) Cannon-Rake, Janice Likins, 9 grandchildren, and 21 great- grandchildren.
