Ollie Rutilla Constant Burgess, daughter of the late Tommy and Alvin Davis Constant, was born January 12, 1907, in Guion. She died November 14, 2000 in Calico Rock. She was 93.
Mrs. Burgess was united in marriage to Daniel Webster Burgess November 29, 1922. She spent her life as a wife, mother and homemaker. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Eldred and Maria Burgess of Calico Rock; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Virgil Corter of Wenatchee, Washington; three sisters, Inez Long of Chelan, Washington; Goldie Edington of Guion; and Fay Burgess of Wenatchee, Washington; nine grandchildren, Wonna Guthrie, Harold Burgess, Patty Conyers, Brenda Gann, Glen Corter, Steven Corter, Lola Depew, Larry Vanover; and Freddy Vanover; 18 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one daughter, Violet Vanover; three sisters, one brother, twin great-great-granddaughters and one daughter-in-law.
Funeral services were held November 17, 2000, at Reeves Cemetery Chapel in Guion with Douglas Parnell and Royce Owens officiating. Pallbearers were Harold Burgess, Larry Vanover, Freddy Vanover, Brad Guthrie, Eric Burgess and Steven Harrington. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Corter, Steven Corter, Daniel Conyers, Clayton Conyers, Raymond Owens, Larry Guthrie and Julius Condrey.
Interment was at Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Calico Rock.
