HUNT, Hester Virginia McCALLISTER - Mrs. Hester V. Hunt, a former resident of Springdale, died Tuesday morning at the Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. She had been in ill health for about one year and had been in the hospital for some three weeks. Her death was caused by a severe cold and was rather sudden as she was allowed to be up Sunday. The remains arrived in Springdale Wednesday morning, being accompanied by H.G. Hunt, son of the deceased, and Solon Hunt, a grand-son. Funeral services were held in the afternoon at the residence of Mrs. H.P. McAlister, being conducted by Rev. L.S. Ballard, pastor of the Baptist Church. The remains were interred in Bluff cemetery by the side of the husband of deceased, who died several years ago. Hester Virginia McCallister was born at Anderson, Ind. May 1, 1836. July 4, 1859 she was united in marriage to Dr. John Hunt. In the spring of 1880, together with their only son, H.G. Hunt, they came to Springdale. Dr. Hunt died some sixteen years ago, since which time Mrs. Hunt has made her home principally with her son, and when he moved to St. Louis a few years ago accompanied him to that city. Deceased was a member of the Baptist Church and was a woman of many good qualities, being always ready to answer to the calls of the needy and those in distress. She had many friends in this locality who were grieved to learn of her death. Besides a son, deceased is survived by a grand-son and numerous other relatives. Mr. Hunt and son left for their home in St. Louis Wednesday night.
