PEARCE, Maltina Dixon - Mrs. Maltina Dixon Pearce was born at Mt. Carmel, Fleming county, Ky. Oct. 5, 1850 and died suddenly at her home in Centerton, Ark. June 7, 1909 at 5:30 p.m. She seemed as well as usual and had just returned from a neighbors house when she, without a moment's warning, became unconscious and soon expired. She was married to Isaac Pearce Feb. 22, 1880. Her husband died March 19, 1909. She professed faith in Christ and joined the Baptist church several years ago. She had not identified herself with the church here, but still held her membership in Kansas. She was a good wife and a kind and helpful neighbor. It was not the writer's good fortune to be well acquainted with her but her friends believe she is at rest. The writer conducted her funeral in the Methodist church at Centerton and we brought her body to the City Cemetery at Bentonville and laid it beside her husband there. She leaves two brothers and many other relatives and friends to mourn for her. May the good Father bless them and may they all have a meeting at last in Heaven. R.E.L. Bearden.
