Sue Lasiter Byrd, 86 of Springhill, Louisiana passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, Louisiana.

She was born on October 7, 1923 in Warren, Arkansas to the late Peyton Brown and Maude Della (Cornish) Lasiter. She was a homemaker, a Presbyterian, and lived most of her life in Springhill, Louisiana. She enjoyed yard work, was a member of the Garden Club for many years, and was civic minded. Sue loved to fish, especially on the Saline River and Lake Chicot.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack Byrd, and two brothers, Terrell and Herbert Dale Lasiter.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Alice Cook and her husband Larry of Greer, South Carolina; two grandsons, Larry Cook II of Atlanta, Georgia, David Cook and wife Shala of Columbus, Mississippi; two great grandchildren, Caroline Cook of Columbus, Mississppi, Miller Fennigan Cook of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Charles Lasiter and his wife Madge; and two sisters, Jo Ann Massey and Bet Howsen and her husband, J.W. both of Warren, Arkansas.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Oakland Cemetery in Warren, Arkansas with Rev. Waymon Mann officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Springhill. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
