O. B. Kelly, age 89, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. Born in Quitman on December 28, 1922, he was the son of the late Aaron and Garnie Ann (Lynn) Kelly.

Mr. Kelly was a veteran of World War II, having served our country in the United States Army. A longtime resident of Quitman, he worked as a carpenter, and upon his retirement, Mr. Kelly enjoyed wood working, including building and finishing furniture. He was a member of the Howard General Baptist Church.

Family members who preceded Mr. Kelly in death include his wife, Elzie Jane Kelly, who passed away on May 2, 2005; his parents; two infant sons, Robert Gene Kelly and Ernest Lynn Kelly; and one brother, Bobby Gene Kelly.

Mr. Kelly is survived by one son, David Lee Kelly and his wife, Gerita Faye, of Quitman; one daughter, Marlene Kelly of Quitman; and three grandchildren, Brandi Lee Ward and her husband, Larry, Joseph Adam Kelly, and Candace Faye Kelly. Mr. Kelly is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.

Visitation and funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Howard General Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Terry Mote and Pastor Aaron Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Quitman Cemetery. Porter Bray, Eldon Tackett, Raymond Tackett, Loyd Phillips, J. C. Davis, and James Johnson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearer will be B. L. Hodges.
