Patricia P. Mety, 76, of Mobile, Ala., and formerly of Baton Rouge, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Springhill Memorial Hospital, Mobile. She was born Dec. 29, 1934, in Shreveport, daughter of the late William Michael Payne and Mable Pearson Payne. She received her education at Natchitoches public schools and was a graduate of Northwestern State College. Pat was a member of Life Church of Mobile and a retired staff member of the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation. Surviving is her husband, Michael P. Mety, whom she married on Aug. 29, 1956, in Natchitoches; daughter, Lisa Mety Beal and her husband, William, of Baton Rouge; two sons, Matthew Mety and his wife, Laura, and Chris Mety, all of Mobile; five grandchildren, Kate Beal, Allen Beal and Michael Beal, all of Baton Rouge, and Madison Mety and Reed Mety, both of Mobile. Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Life Church, 8701 Zeigler Blvd., Mobile, AL 36608. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial service will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, Warren, Ark., on Saturday, March 12, at 1:30 p.m.
