Samuel Duckett Whitmore was the son of Samuel and Ethel Whitmore of Center Point, Arkansas. He attended Lincoln High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company after 26 years of service. At an early age, he was a member of the Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. He passed away on May 22, 1994.

He leaves to mourn two daughters, one son, eight grandchildren, one preceding him in death, two brothers, two sisters and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
