William (Buck) Reed

EVANSVILLE — William Dewitt (Buck) Reed, 81, of the Vineyard community near Evansville died March 17, 1995, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 20, 1913, at Piney, Okla., to Dewitt and Bethana Whelchel Reed. He was a member of the Vineyard Community Church and an avid fisherman and gardener.

Survivors include his wife, Ella M. Reed of the home; one son, Raymond (Bud) Reed of Evansville; four brothers, Raymond (Tope) Reed of Wakita, Okla., Frank Reed of Houston, Texas, and Sam and Tom Reed, both of Stilwell, Okla.; four sisters, Lucille Moore of Pawhuska, Okla., Pat Leatherwood of Tahlequah, Okla., Retha Gonsaulis of Wellington and Geraldine Johnson of Houston, Texas; three foster sons, Walter Clements of Indianapolis, Ind., Larry Clements of Fort Smith and Ike Drake of Greenland; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Vineyard Cemetery at Evansville with the Rev. Tim Gyles and the Rev. Bruce Thompson officiating. Arrangements are by Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove.

Pallbearers will be Phil Reed, Mel Reed, Matt Reed, John Wilhite, Mike Harvey and Stanely Morton.
