Ruby C. Collins

Ruby C. Collins, 86, lifelong resident of Elkins and Fayetteville, died Monday, Aug. 16,
2004, at Northwest Medical Center of Washington County in Springdale. She was born July 5, 1918, in Elkins to Milton H. and Laura I. Moore Foster. She was a homemaker and a member of Sang Avenue Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Collins, in 1973 and two brothers, Earl and Walter Foster.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Beard and husband John of Fayetteville and Joyce Collins White of Fairbanks, Alaska; one grandson, Marc Beard of Syracuse, N.Y.; four sisters, Mary Gilley and Marie Parnell, both of Fayetteville, Thelma Hickman and Sammie Williams, both of Tulsa, Okla.; two stepgrandsons, Chris White of St. Louis, Mo., and Greg White of Kansas City and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at McCord Cemetery in Elkins.

A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. Friday at Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sang Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
