Grover 'Coke' Cochenour

Grover D. Cochenour 84, of Johnson died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born May 22, 1920, in Cullison, Kan., the son of Earl and Maggie Wilson Cochenour.

He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 1/2 years of employment. He had also worked for the CCCs, Harmon Construction and J.C. Penney in the stock room.

He was an avid catfish fisherman and coon hunter, having fished at Lake Fayetteville for 44 years. He was a member of Elmdale Baptist Church in Springdale and a former member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a corporal squadron leader in the Anti-Aircraft Artillery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Floyd Cochenour and his stepfather, Odie Lewis

He is survived by his wife, Rema Couchenour and beloved dog Suizi; daughter, Aundra Spears and husband Bill of Springdale; graddaughter, Pamela Ramos of Fayetteville; two great-grandsons, Chris Ramos and Jordan Ramos of Fayetteville.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30 at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. Pastor Charlie Brown and Pastor Tom Shaw will officiate.

Burial will be in McCord Cemetery.

Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Moore's Chapel. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Elmdale Baptist Church, P.O. box 2055, Springdale, 72765.

Rema Cochenour

JOHNSON — Rema Cochenour, 84 a resident of Johnson for 50 years died Friday, July 31, 2009 at her daughter's home in Siloam Springs. She was born November 2, 1924 in Delaney, Arkansas to Earl Watkins and Carrie Alice Warford Watkins.

She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Grover, parents, and all her siblings.

Survivors include a daughter, Aundra Spears and husband, Bill of Siloam Springs; granddaughter, Pam Ramos Garcia of Fayetteville; 2 grandsons, Jordan Ramos of the home and Chris Ramos of Siloam Springs and her loving dog, Suizi.

Funeral service will be 2:00PM, Monday, August 3, 2009 at Beards Chapel. Burial will be in McCord Cemetery under the direction of Beards Chapel.

The family will receive friends at Beards Chapel Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Washington Regional Hospice, Elmdale Baptist Church of Springdale, or First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs Building Fund.
