James Ray Scroggs, 85, of Beebe, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2009. He was born March 25, 1924, in Beebe, Arkansas, to the late Chalmers Amos and Ora Alice Scroggs. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran in the South Pacific during WWII, and was a 32nd degree Mason. He retired from the State vehicle maintenance shop in North Little Rock and The Arkansas National Guard.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Dewitt, Ralph, and Roy of Little Rock, Kenneth of Newport and C. A. of Beebe; and one sister, Faye Harper of Kansas City, Missouri.
He is survived by two brothers, Jay Scroggs of Jonesboro and Walter Scroggs of Little Rock; three sisters, Ora Mae Bass of Beebe, Annie Lee Hughes of Letona, and Doris Reed of Seal Beach, California; good friend and farm partner, Bennie Wilson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
