ALCORN, Ella Jones - Mrs. Ella Jones Alcorn died at her home in Bentonville Friday night, March 22, 1929 at the age of 66 years after suffering many months of pain. She had been confined to her bed the past several months. She was born in Crawford county, Indiana October 6, 1864. She professed faith in Christ early in life, remaining a true Christian until called to her reward. Mrs. Alcorn was married to Thomas M. Alcorn March 8, 1883. To this union were born four boys and two girls, two boys and one girl preceding her to the grave. She bore her affliction with patience and was a kind and loving mother, always deeply interested in the welfare of her children. She was loved and respected by all of her neighbors and friends who never heard her speak unkindly of anyone. The Alcorn family moved to Bentonville about ten years ago and bought the Chandler property on East B street where they made their home. Mr. Alcorn died some years ago. Surviving her are her sons, Alva of Bridgeport, Okla. and Harvey of Bethany, Okla., and her daughter, Miss Hazel. Funeral services were held at the Church of the Nazarene, of which she was a member, Sunday afternoon, the Rev. C.C. Cluck officiating. Burial followed in the City cemetery.
